Pop Paper City

These artworks were commissioned by Pop Paper City, a paper craft children's animated show made in Dorset and distributed by Aardman. The brief was to imagine a mock-up concept for a floating city in their pop paper universe. Inspired by Googie architecture, with a modular, paper craft aesthetic, I produced these building callouts to suggest how you can arrange, recolour, and layer them in such a way to suggests an eclectic and dense environment. I rendered 3 building assets, tangibly craft-able for kids, and snapped some previz setups. You can imagine how rich a world it could be with many more assets! I had tons of ideas and wanted to push further creatively / experimentally, but time and budget constraints didn't allow this time. All in all, it was a delight to explore their universe of paper, and reminded me how precious children's media is.
